my Congressman

Filed under: Doodling — TCA @ 6:45 pm

I told you a few weeks back about Republican Rep. Jerry Lewis of neighboring San Bernadino County. Now it’s time to talk about a politician who is even closer to home. Rep. Ken Calvert of Corona in Riverside County is my Congressman.

“On Wednesday, House conservatives appointed Rep. Ken Calvert (R-CA) to replace embattled Rep. John Doolittle (R-CA) on the House Appropriations Committee. ThinkProgress noted the irony in this appointment, as Calvert has been scandal-plagued for years, using earmarks to make millions of dollars in personal profits.” So says ThinkProgress.

Rep. Lewis and Rep. Calvert were buddies of disgraced and convicted former Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham of San Diego County.

“Members were quietly brooding over the Calvert move on Thursday and similarly disgruntled about the Steering Committee’s decision to allow Rep. Jerry Lewis (R-Calif.) to maintain his hold as the ranking Republican on the appropriations panel.” So says The Politico.
